Over to the youngest member of the SO Mum family…
Hi! I was born in 2010 and am almost a whole year old! I used to have crazy hair and it wouldn’t lie flat. It’s calmed down a bit now but Mummy has to keep cutting it so it’s not in my eyes all the time! I love getting into all kinds of mischief. Some babies are happy to sit quietly and play with their toys but that’s not my cup of tea. Mummy likes cups of tea. Since I’ve been around she seems to prefer them cold, I’m not sure why. I have a big sister, she is really funny and always makes me laugh. She also reads stories to me which is great because I love books (they taste nice). I enjoy holding my hand up to my ear and chatting on my invisible telephone. I do have a toy telephone too but I wasn’t born yesterday and I know it’s not real…. Although it is good for hitting Daddy on the head with, that’s a fun game! Oh and my favourite things in the whole world are cats. I have two of them at my house and I love them (almost as much as they love me!)
My big sister was born in 2005 which apparently makes her 6 (really old, even older than 5). She loves music and is forever singing along to the likes of Olly Murs and Katy Perry. She printed out all the words to California Gurls so she could learn them, but she can’t seem to find them now (I may or may not have something to do with that). I do try and join in at times, there’s a good song by that Olly fella which I like to dance to. I love watching my sister dance around the room, it makes me smile. She’s also very clever and can do those funny caterpillar things on the floor… I’m going to learn that one day, but I need to master walking first. One step at a time. Anyway, back to my sister. She goes to a place called ‘School’. I’m not sure what they do there but it looks fun. She gets to bring home a new book every night to read to me, which is great, but I do miss her a bit when she’s there (don’t tell her I said that).
I try and help my Mummy as much as I can because I think it’s probably quite hard work looking after us all, especially Daddy. I make sure she wakes up nice and early every morning so that she has plenty of time to get things done. I know how much she likes her cold cups of tea, so I try and distract her by doing something I shouldn’t so that she doesn’t accidentally drink it while it’s still warm, as I don’t think she’d like that. She has a best friend called The Vacuum who comes out 2 or 3 times a day and eats all the crumbs off the floor. Again, I try to help Mummy by making as much mess as possible so she can see The Vacuum more often.
My Daddy is quite old because he’ll be 30 soon. I think he had a pet dinosaur when he was as little as me, but now he says he has a pet monster instead. I’ve never seen it but I know it has the same name as me. Daddy goes to a place called ‘Work’ and gets to sit down at a desk and play on a computer all day. Work sounds fun, I don’t know why Daddy pretends to be so tired when he gets home! Playing isn’t tiring, I’m never ever tired. Mummy and Daddy seem to think I need this thing called ‘sleep’, but I’m not convinced. Sleep is for babies.
On that note, I’m just going to go and have a cuddle with Pooh Bear in my cot. I do this most nights, sometimes I even rest my eyes for a while. Mummy and Daddy think I’m fast asleep but I’m just humouring them. Then when they least expect it I’ll wake them up so we can have a nice cuddle. I do that because I love them!
