One of the best things about springtime has to be seeing all the cute little lambs leaping and bounding through the fields. There are lots of places to see newborn lambs in Hampshire, from special lambing open days, to days out at local farms where you may just be lucky enough to time your visit perfectly to witness a birth or see a tiny lamb’s first bambi-like stumbles around the barn.
Here are a couple of lambing events I’ve found for spring 2019 in Hampshire:
Westlands Farm Shop in Shedfield holds lambing days each spring. The 2019 lambing days will be on 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th March, where you’ll be able to meet the new arrivals and see what goes on around the farm at lambing time.
Meet the newborns at Hyden Farm Originals in Waterlooville on 20th April, where there’ll be activities for the children too.
Miller’s Ark in Hook has already had a half term lambing week, but there are usually more open days throughout spring, just keep an eye on their website for updates.
Just outside Hampshire, on the edge of the South Downs, Gaston Farm have their Open Lambing season, daily from 30th March to 28th April.
Other local places to see lambs in Hampshire (as well as all the usual farm animals) include; Longdown Activity Farm in Southampton, Manor Farm in Southampton, Oasis Down to Earth Farm in Southampton, Staunton Farm in Havant, Finkley Down Farm in Andover and 4 Kingdoms near Newbury.
