Winchester Cathedral Lantern Parade

The lantern parade is back for 2019, but bigger and better than ever! Make your own lantern with Bella Crafts, see the displays in the Cathedral, and join a fun family parade starting from the Cathedral and finishing with a stunning fireworks display.
The parade is a great event for all the family whether you participate or come just to enjoy the colourful spectacle, lap up the atmosphere and admire the skilfully made weird and wonderful lanterns.
Anyone can get involved in the Lantern Parade by creating a lantern. Lantern workshops will be held at Bella Crafts, Fair Oak, on the following dates:
Sunday 10 November 9.30am – 12.30pm or 1.00pm – 4.00pm
Saturday 16 November 2.30pm – 5.30pm
Sunday 24 November 9.30am – 12.30pm or 1.00pm – 4.00pm
Also after school from 11 November onwards from 3.30pm – 5.30pm.
Participants in the Lantern Parade should arrive at Winchester Cathedral between 5.30pm and 6.00pm. Enjoy festive Christmas Carols for all the family in the Nave, before the Lantern Parade begins at 6.30pm.
Prizes will be available for the best lanterns.
