This Saturday sees multiple venues in Southampton join together in a Day of Art, where families can take part in creative sessions to draw, paint and make together. There will also be immersive experiences, exhibitions and performances throughout the day.
The Umbrella Arts Festival is also happening in Southampton this Saturday, exploring health and wellbeing through the arts. There will be music, art activities, board games, role play and much more, at NST City. It’s free and is suitable for all ages.
Based on the much-loved book by Dr. Seuss, The Cat in the Hat stage show is currently at NST Campus, taking families on a rollercoaster ride of havoc and mayhem!
Over at Winchester Science Centre, families can discover exciting DIY science activities they’ll be able to do at home, with lots of tips and tricks from the science centre team. This weekend, join SoCo Vegetable Orchestra in the Invention Studio to craft your own vegetable instrument!
If you’re an annual member at Marwell Zoo, you can gain early access from 9am this Saturday and see the zoo as it is just waking up! The gift shop and café will also be open from 9am.
This weekend sees the stunning Exbury Gardens reopen for the season, with all-new areas including a Centenary Garden, Exbury History Exhibition and a Stream of Spring Bulbs. There’s also a great kids’ play area and the steam train of course!
Bursledon Brickworks Museum is kicking off the season with a Spring Craft Fair and Fun Dog Show this Sunday. A great opportunity to find some handmade Mother’s Day and Easter gifts, as well as letting the kids loose in the fantastic new play area!
Want to see some cute little fluffy newborn lambs? Head to Miller’s Ark Animals‘ Lambing Open Days this weekend, up in Hook. You’ll have the chance to see a whole range of other farm babies too, and enjoy a few furry cuddles!
One lot of cute fluffy lambs not enough for you? Westlands Farm Shop‘s Lambing Open Days also continue this weekend, where you’ll be able to meet the new arrivals and see what goes on around the farm at lambing time.
A little further afield, Bournemouth Oceanarium has a fantastic offer this month for local residents. If you have a BH, DT, SO or SP postcode, you can claim half price standard day tickets, or even half price Gold Memberships which offer unlimited admission throughout 2019 – pretty good value if you ask me!
